Misean Cara is pleased to announce that Matt Moran, a former Chairperson of the Misean Cara Board and author of The Legacy of Irish Missionaries Lives On will launch his latest book – The Theology of Integral Human Development: The Role of Faith in International Development and Public Affairs – at an event in Whitefriar Street Church Community Hall, 56 Aungier Street, Dublin on Wednesday, 5 October at 7pm.

Further details on how to RSVP for this event or how to purchase a copy of the book can be found below.

The book, with a Foreword by Dr David Begg (former CEO of Concern Worldwide, Board Member of Trócaire, and Advisory Board Member of Irish Aid), explores:

–        integral human development

–        the intrinsic values that faith brings to international development, especially as exemplified by Irish missionaries

–        Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation

–        authentic partnership vs financial relationship with funders

–        the faith inter-face with the UN, UNHCR, UNICEF, UNAIDS, World Bank, WHO and the EU

–        its receding place in public affairs in Ireland

–        the relationship between Church and State in Ireland

–        the fractious relationship between Church and the Irish media

–        the evolving clash between Christian values and human rights as in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and

–        the un-challenged findings on serious dysfunctions within the European Court of Human Rights.

Speakers at the launch will include:

Carol Nolan TD, Dr David Begg, and Professor Fainche Ryan, Director of The Loyola Institute, TCD.

To Attend: Please RSVP to mattmoran2021@gmail.com by 30th September.

To Purchase the Book: Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the event for €15 per copy or can be ordered afterwards directly from the author for postal delivery (email mattmoran2021@gmail.com).
