Celebrating 30 years of the AAVE Group in Goiânia, Brazil

In October 2025, the AAVE Group celebrated its 30th anniversary at a special event in Goiânia. Co-founded by Sr. Margaret Hosty of the Sisters of Saint Louis, the AAVE Group provides support and information to people living with HIV/AIDS so that they may live lives of dignity.

In English, AAVE Group stands for: AIDS, Assistance, Life, Hope. In Portuguese: AIDS, Apoio, Vida, EsperanƧa.

In the video below, watch interviews with Sr. Margaret and staff and supporters of the AAVE Group as they reflect on the legacy and impact of an organisation now serving more than 200 families in and around Goiânia.
