Misean Cara AGM 2025- Highlights & Photos

Misean Cara was pleased to host its 2025 AGM on the 25th of June, at the Camden Court Hotel in Dublin, welcoming an audience of Misean Cara members, Board of Directors, Irish Aid, and other key stakeholders. At the AGM we covered a range of topics including a review of the 2024 Financial Statements, progress and achievements towards our strategic objectives, and the launch of our Misean Cara 2024 Annual Report.

Misean Cara’s Annual Report shares the reach and impact of life-changing Irish missionary development projects conducted by our members in more than 50 countries around the world. From education and healthcare to livelihoods and human rights, in 2024 our members worked with compassion and dignity in communities experiencing poverty, inequality and conflict. Their work brought hope and transformation to more than 1.9 million people through 338 projects funded by Misean Cara.

2024 Impact Highlights

  • Livelihoods: 162,766 people in more than 36,000 households improved incomes through sustainable agriculture and job skills training.
  • Education: 127,519 learners—55% of them girls—gained access to quality education in 29 countries.
  • Healthcare: Over 1 million people across 28 countries received essential, holistic health services.
  • Human Rights: 1.4 million people learned about their rights; 1,300 received support to access justice.
  • Emergency Response: 106,565 people received aid following disasters, conflict, and disease outbreaks.

New Leadership Announced for Misean Cara Board of Directors

After the AGM, Misean Cara also announced new leadership appointments to our Board of Directors. Philip O’Brien has been appointed as Chairperson and Elizabeth Bolger as Vice-Chairperson of its Board of Directors, following confirmations made at the AGM. Misean Cara has also welcomed former Irish Ambassador William J. Carlos as a new Director to the Board. Read more about Misean Cara’s Board of Directors here.
