Irish Aid - Supporting Misean Cara since 2004

Misean Cara was founded in 2004 to provide funding and support to the overseas development work of missionaries. We are membership-based, with 79 member organisations working in some of the most disadvantaged regions around the world to uphold people’s rights to climate-resilient livelihoods, better healthcare, quality education and human rights.

Since our inception, we have received and disbursed to our members more than €300 million euros in funding from the Irish government through its Irish Aid programme (averaging €15.5 million annually over the past five years).

We are grateful for the ongoing funding support of the Irish Aid programme, which enables us to help our members deliver effective development projects across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.
