In the Cabo Delgado region of Mozambique, the Augustinian Sisters are empowering vulnerable women farmers through sustainable agriculture, teaching them climate-smart farming methods that build self-sufficiency and family security in the face of growing climate change. The project is also helping the farmers make important strides in protecting and restoring their environment.
A recent article from the National Catholic Reporter (June 12th 2025) highlights the work of the Augustinians in Mozambique with funding from Misean Cara.
In 2024, this project received a Misean Cara Climate Action Award for its innovation and commitment to helping farmers prepare and adapt to ever-increasing climate shocks.
