Misean Cara in World Mission Sunday supplement of The Irish Catholic newspaper

In this week’s edition of The Irish Catholic Newspaper (20th October), coverage of Misean Cara and its members’ work in international development is featured in the paper’s World Mission Sunday supplement.

The supplement includes interviews with Misean Cara CEO, John Moffett and Board Vice-Chair Sr Josephine McCarthy and profiles of Misean Cara members, highlighting their lives and work as overseas missionaries. To read the full text of the World Mission Sunday supplement click here.

Each year, October is set aside in the Catholic Church as the World Month of Missions, established in 1926 by Pope Pius XI to “foster understanding of the greatness of the missionary task, encourage zeal among the clergy and the people, make the missionary movement more widely known, and encourage offerings for the missions.”

The World Month of Missions culminates in Ireland with a celebration of a World Mission Sunday Mass on RTÉ, co-presented by Misean Cara, MISSIO Ireland (Pope Francis’s official charity for overseas mission / www.missio.ie ) and AMRI (The Association of Leaders of Missionaries and Religious of Ireland / www.amri.ie/). The Mass will air on RTÉ at 11am and can be watched live (or later) via the RTÉ website .
