The Letter: A Message for Our Earth – Film Screening

Join Misean Cara on the afternoon of Thursday 25th May, for a special screening of ‘The Letter: A Message for Our Earth’. The film is a documentary featuring Pope Francis in conversation with five frontline leaders who are tackling the environmental and biodiversity crises in response to the Laudato Si’ encyclical – which calls for increased dialogue and action by faith actors and like-minded people to care for ‘our common home’.

After the screening, Bishop of Kilmore, Martin Hayes, and Laudato Si’ Action Platform Ireland will take part in a brief discussion forum with the audience. Bishop Hayes is an active representative of the Laudato Si’ Movement in Ireland and recently attended the Catholic Bishops’ Conference at COP (Conference of Parties) on international action and obligations around tackling Climate Change.

Misean Cara’s screening of The Letter also coincides with Laudato Si’ Week 2023 (May 21-28), a week set aside to mark the 8th anniversary of Pope Francis’ landmark encyclical on care for creation, Laudato Si’.

Refreshments will be provided at the screening.
