Supporting our members and partners around the world
To build the skills and knowledge of our members’ project teams and improve the quality of their development projects around the world, Misean Cara contracts regionally based mentors in Latin America and Africa. Mentors provide accompaniment and support with project design and implementation and help with system strengthening at both the project and country level. Mentors also regularly convene online or in-person meetings to bring members’ project teams together to share experiences and knowledge.

2026 Mentor Meeting in Nairobi

Each January, our Development Mentors come together in Nairobi to reflect on the past year and plan ahead.

This year, new mentors Kene and George were welcomed on board for a thorough introduction to Misean Cara before joining a full mentors’ meeting alongside Patricia Ynoñan; Paul Gichuki; Monitoring & Results Measurement Officer, Jenny Ackermann; and new Learning & Capacity Strengthening Manager, Alix Tiernan.

From local fundraising and project learnings to monitoring, evaluation, and locally led development, the discussions focused on turning capacity strengthening into real impact at project level.

The team held their meeting at the CORAT Africa Conference and Meeting Centre.
