Samples of the regional range and variety of development work of missionaries
Philippines
Ecology education including hands on practical demonstrations with
handouts and take home plants, modules on permaculture, zero waste,
herbal plants for medicinal and culinary use, bio-diversity,
composting, vermiculture, grey-water management, bio-septic and
waterless toilets and bio-purification of water. Grameen bank
enabling organised poor village groups, primarily women, access to
loans for livelihoods projects to improve wellbeing. For example,
getting the children to school or changing a house from bamboo to
cement blocks.
Livelihood programme involving over 120 people in which groups were
trained in industrial sewing machine operation, culinary arts, soap
making, micro-finance and cell phone repair.
